Empowering Specially-abled Artists from Mumbai

Established in 2021 in Mumbai, India, Stay Strong Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to encouraging and supporting disabled and blind musical artists to achieve economic independence. Our mission is to create opportunities for these talented individuals, enabling them to flourish professionally and personally within the vibrant arts community.

Our Activities and Initiatives

Stay Strong Foundation collaborates with various charitable organisations and community groups to help disabled and blind artists secure appropriate musical performance opportunities, ensuring fair remuneration for their skills. In 2023, the foundation became a registered Section 8 company in Mumbai and launched a dedicated music centre in Sewri. This centre offers music and dance lessons taught by skilled disabled and blind artists, providing them with a platform to earn a livelihood whilst sharing their expertise.

Beyond the music centre, the foundation leads multiple outreach projects, where artists engage with street children in Mumbai, fostering community spirit and teaching valuable skills such as music and dance. Our artists regularly perform for children affected by cancer, residents of old age homes, and orphanages, spreading positivity and joy across all sections of society.

Financial Support and Sustainability

Currently, the foundation's activities are funded through a combination of revenue generated from the music centre, event fees, and donations. Our long-term vision is to become a fully self-funded and sustainable organisation, capable of generating sufficient revenue to cover operational costs, rent, and fair salaries for disabled artists working with us. We also aim to nurture the next generation of artists from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, with a particular focus on those living with disabilities.

Legal and Tax Compliance

Stay Strong Foundation is registered with the Income Tax Department of India under sections 80G and 12A, enabling donors to benefit from income tax exemptions on their contributions. We are currently in the process of obtaining FCRA and CSR registrations to facilitate support from corporate entities and foreign donors.
